Intervening Between Walls and Furnishings

"Los Angeles River Bridge" SOLD
24" x 36" acrylic on canvas.

Bridges capture my imagination. They not only join two sections but cross over a third. It is the beginning of one side and the end at the other - a symbol of the meeting and the crossing. Much like a painting in a room that bridges the gap between the decorative and the inspirational. It contributes to the nature of the space by intervening between the blank walls and the furnishings. Like the bridge the art cannot stand apart from the space but needs to reinforce the surroundings and relate to each part and to the design as a whole.
